At the first round of Spanish LaLiga, we will see Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid, at Estadio de Balaídos, in Vigo. Both teams made big changes in their club for the last year, especially Real Madrid calling back Zinedine Zidane and bringing many new talented players. Celta Vigo also had changed their head coach and brought several players to strengthen the team. Of course, the teams are on a completely different level. Real Madrid is now eager for new successes and achievements with Zidane and the new super players, especially after last year failure.

Previously Real Madrid dominated over the Celta, as they won 4 of the last 5 games in La Liga, with only one draw in Vigo, at the beginning of 2018. Since the 2006 year, Celta Vigo scoring at least 1 goal in all the games against Madridistas. Most often, teams play very productive football with goals from both teams and a total of more than 3 goals. We hope to see interesting 1st round match between Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid, so read our thought here below.

Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo stays in La Liga since season 2012/13 whitout relegation. They took last season 17th place and were on a verge of going back to Segunda. Now squad changed their head coach Fran Escribá, who had a great example of how to start working as a manager. He likes to play with a 4-4-2 tactic, so he will use Iago Aspas and Newby from Valencia Santi Mina as two main forwards. With Fran, they won at the end of the season against Villarreal and Barcelona at home, however, failed to win all the road games. In total, they won only twice last season away, what is really bad result for such a strong team.

Iago Aspas and Maxi Gomez were two strong attack leaders with most scored goals in the team. However, during the summer transfer window, they sold Maxi to Valencia taking Santi Mina and 14.5m € from this deal. We see them fighting till the end this season and showing much better results under a new coach.

Unfortunately, Santi Mina, David Junca and Hugo Mello will miss the first game against a superb opponent.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid starting this season with drastic changes in their squad. After selling Cristiano Ronaldo, the team began to play worse, which led to big changes in the team. Last season Real Madrid had very bad luck, as they lost 12 games and finished at 3rd position in La Liga. Moreover, they lost to Ajax at 1/8 Finals of Champions League at home with crashing 1:4 result. After great achievements with Zidane previously, that results were shocking for the club and fans. Santiago Solari could not cope with the pressure on him and the players, so the club was forced to call the legend back. The biggest question is around Gareth Bale, as Zidane planned to sell him, however, he is still in the squad.

During the summer transfer window, they brought Eden Hazard from Chelsea for 100m €, Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt for 60m €, Eder Militao from Porto for 50m €, Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyon fro 48m € and Rodrygo from Santos for 45m €. Team strengthened almost every position, what needs some time now to find the best game together. Moreover, they sold several unused players like Mateo Kovacic, Marcos Llorente, Raul de Tomas (he scored 14 goals last season, so he is an exception) and Theo Hernandez. All new players should bring a new vision of the game and new breath for new achievements and heights.

Unfortunately, Marco Asensio, Ferland Mendy, and Brahim Diaz will miss the next game due to injuries.
