The second round of Premier League gives one of the most interesting and intriguing games Wolverhampton vs Manchester United, at Molineux Stadium, in Wolverhampton. Both Nuno Espírito Santo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made several important transfers this summer and strengthen their team as much as it was possible. Even taking only 7th place in Premier League, Wolves were very dangerous opponent playing against all top Premier League teams.
During the last season, these teams met 3 times. Manchester United lost twice at Molineux Stadium and drawn the match at Old Trafford. Of course, they struggled during the first half of the season, however, Wolves played very strongly. So these results are justified and with reasons. We see this match as one of the most interesting Premier League rounds as both teams should start this season confidently and strongly. Still, there should be an intrigue, who will take 3 points from this Wolverhampton vs Manchester United game. So read here below our thoughts about this interesting PL match.
Wolverhampton
During this season Wolves already played 5 games. They are still fighting in Qualification to be among UEFA Europa League teams to play in Group stage of the main event. For now, they won all the games in qualification with conceding only once against Crusaders. Wolverhampton abilities are much higher than almost every other team in this draw. In the final, they will play against Torino, which also had a great and easy path to this stage. This match should be very important for both, so they need to be prepared very well. The match against Manchester United will be a very great chance to check their weak and strong sides of the game.
At the opening round of Premier League, they played against Leicester City. Wolves came back at home from King Power Stadium with 1 point after 0:0 draw. Foxes had more chances to succeed, however, luck and strong defensive work led Wolves to clean sheet in the round game. We can regard this as a good result since they played against a strong opponent on the road.
During this summer transfer window, Wolves doest sold any important player. However, they brought several interesting, prospective and experienced players. To Wolverhampton arrived 28 years old Raul Jimenez for 38m € after a great performance being on loan last season. Pedro Neto and Patrick Cutrone, both young talents joined WOlves from Italy’s Grands Lazio and Milan. Both should be a very interesting and strong addition and get important roles in the main squad.
Manchester United
Manchester United already played against Chelsea in the opening round of Premier League. The Red Devils smashed Blues with 4:0 result at Old Trafford, however, after the match there are mixed emotions about the result. Manchester United made everything very correctly, they created dangerous moments, had fast counter-attacks and worked hard in the defense. Still, Chelsea’s game was not so weak as we see by the result. They played without several team leaders so, they struggled to make everything for 100% especially in the second half. All in all, we believe, that Wolverhampton, playing at their ground could be even dangerous opponent for Red Manchester.
The Red Devils have a big amount of great players and a very interesting and creative manager. Very likely, that we will see Alexis Sanchez in this game, what should bring more speed. However, he had a lack of form previously and almost showed nothing during the whole season. In defense, Manchester now with Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be like a wall now whitout any weaknesses.
