The second semi-final of an ATP 250 tournament in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. There we have a Frenchman Richard Gasquet matching up against Australian Jordan Thompson. To have more insights on this ATP Richard Gasquet vs Jordan Thompson match please check out the preview below.
Gasquet is nearly 33 years old veteran who’s played only 9 matches this season and won 6 of them. Injuries were making it tough for him to come back but he is finally playing again and looking quite good. Gasquet is actually good on every ground he plays but the grass should be considered the best one for him as he has 75 victories out of 109 matches played on it. That’s more than 66% and that’s impressive. Richard has lost only 1 set at this tournament and it happened against Bedene in the first round. He had no problems defeating Kukushkin and Jarry in later stages winning both matches in straight sets. Gasquet is looking strong and expects him to take this form into tomorrow’s match.
Young Australian has improved a lot past few seasons and he’s started this year strong as well. There were a lot of questions about him showing up on the grass as he hadn’t had the best record on this specific ground previously but he is silencing the critics by winning one match after another. He was considered an underdog against both Tiafoe and De Minaur but managed to come out on top and definitely looked like a stronger player for the bigger part of both matches. Jordan hasn’t even fulfilled his full potential and is still improving with each game and is definitely a player worth to watch.
