The last day of the ATP Madrid Open the winner will take it all. Not many people expected to see Tsitsipas in the final but the guy showed incredible courage and mental strength to beat Rafa and to get to this stage. He beat the king of clay in 3 sets after breaking 3 games in a row in the 3rd set. Djoko has managed to beat Dominic quite comfortably in straight sets and looked a better player for a whole game.
Last year Alexander Zverev won the Title and failed to get into the Semi-final after losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas. In this tournament Djokovic defending only 45 points and already got 600 what will strengthen his position in ATP Rankings. Stefanos already played in 3 Finals this season, becoming Champion in Marseille and Estoril. While Novak played and won only in Australian Open, what was enough to guarantee the 1st place. In 2019 Mutua Madrid Open Finalist will get 608.700 Eur and Winner 1.202.520 Eur Prizemoney. Here are our thoughts on this interesting and beautiful game, check it below.
Novak Djokovic
Novak played incredibly well today against Thiem. Most of his shots and made points have been placed in the highlights because some of them looked out of this world. Thiem might have been not at his 100% today but Djoko definitely was and the guy seemed unstoppable. Expect Novak to take this form to the final and show how good he is at the highest stage.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Tsitsipas surprisingly managed to beat Nadal in 3 sets after a long and beautiful fight between two great players. The Greek was good on attacking Nadal and not giving a lot of room to breath and played rallies incredibly well. Only 20 y.o Tsitsipas kept his cool without letting Nadal take back control of the game. Even though Stefan played well it doesn’t seem like he has enough left to defeat Djokovic tomorrow.
H2H
Tsitsipas played vs Djokovic only once in Canada, ATP Masters and managed to win the game in 3 sets.
