David Goffin
28 year old Belgian is not having his best season so far. He’s been dropping in rankings for quite a while and now is currently sitting in 33rd place. Goffin can match up well against anyone on a good day but the main thing he lacks is consistency. He has never used to give away as many free points as he is doing these days and most of his opponents take advantage of it. He is also a very soft player who sometimes seems like he is not interested in playing at all and comes here to only do the job no matter how it will end up. That can be seen by anyone and until he becomes motivated for each match and shows us some consistency he is not going to be a Top10 player anytime soon even though he definitely has the skills to be.
Radu Albot
The absolutely different situation here on the Moldavian side. He is definitely not the most skilled player or not the most entertaining. However, Albot is always fighting until the last point. You will never see Albot quitting after a set or even two sets down and he’s made some great comebacks throughout his career in that manner. Some commentators even joke that Albot is like a bulldog who is not backing down to anyone. Radu Albot is also having a great season so far by winning 25 out of 37 matches played and is looking great. Of course, it will be interesting to see him matching up against such a strong opponent – Goffin. Albot doesn’t prefer grass over other grounds but he might surprise us here as well.
