The second semi-final of the day at the ATP 500 tournament in London, United Kingdom. Here we have one of the younger players facing off against one of the most experienced ones and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. To have more insights on this ATP Daniil Medvedev vs Gilles Simon match please check out the preview below.

Daniil Medvedev

23 year old Russian is climbing the rankings step by step and he’s showing some improvement on grass as well. He finally managed to beat Lucas Pouille in 3 sets after losing to him multiple times. Even though Pouille had the advantage in 3rd set young Russian kept fighting and overcame the difficult situation. It actually shows the growth this player is having while he still has a lot of unrealized potentials. In his other matches at this tournament, Medvedev had no problems at beating Schwartzman and Verdasco in convincing victories in straight sets. Daniil is definitely a favorite coming in tomorrow’s match.

Gilles Simon

34 years old veteran from France surprised everyone in the second round of this tournament. He defeated a clear favorite of that match Kevin Anderson. Simon gave away a second set and it seemed like Anderson will finally take over the match but Simon had other ideas and showed that he still has something left in the tank. He’s always been an average grass player overall and this good start of the season despite a win against Anderson hasn’t placed him anywhere above that status. Anyway, if Simon would manage to win against Medvedev tomorrow this could change opinions about him and we might start to consider the Frenchman as a real threat on this ground.
