Clay season has started in France. This time in Sophia Antipolis Challenger tournament, wherein the second round we are going to see a match between youngster Rudolf Molleker and Austrian Lucas Miedler. Both talented players will play in a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Rudolf Molleker

First one is an 18 years old german super talent Rudolf Molleker. A very bright future is predicted for this young man who is originally born in Ukraine. In the last season, he won his first Challenger title at 17 years old! Also, it wasn’t a one time moment, on the same year he managed to win against some top ATP players like Jan Struff or Leonardo Mayer. This season start has also been a success for him. He passed qualifications in the Australian Open. After AO, he wasn’t doing very well, which continues to now – 8 consecutive losses. But almost all losses were on the hard court and Rudolf playing style is not very suitable for this surface. His favorite cover is clay and we can see it from his playing style. Molleker loves to play from the baseline. He has an aggressive two-handed backhand and a quite solid forehand. Also, he can serve very well. In general, this player can reach a top spot in the future as he has everything that needs to become an ATP top 10 players.

Lucas Miedler

Lucas Miedler is an Austrian tennis player. This young guy in tennis courts flashed only recently. The last season he ended very well. But this season for him is a bit harder. He played in 9 tournaments. However, the start is quite wavy for the Austrian. He is able to reach next stages in some tournaments but in other ones he losses in the first round. So from this inconsistency, we could say that on this day his form is not the best. Lucas often plays on the baseline, but also he is good at the net, has a solid volley. His style of playing is more typical to fast courts. His main weapon is a two-handed backhand, which has clutch moments. All in all, this Austrian should be a great teammate in the future for Dominic Thiem in defending his country.
