Jiri Vesely vs Hubert Hurkacz one more great match of the semi-final at Canberra Challenger Tournament taking place in Australia. Both talented players will play in a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Jiri Vesely

Jiri Vesely is only 25 years old, although it seems like he plays tennis much longer. Great but very unpredictable tennis player with his ups and downs at the career. Czech can win against Novak Djokovic and then lose against 200 – rated unknown tennis player. He had the best time in the year 2015, subsequently, he was Nr. 35 in ATP ratings.

Last season Jiri played unsure tennis at Hardcourt but he showed how he can play at grass and clay in few tournaments. Vesely has left Wimbledon Tournament only losing to Rafael Nadal at 1/8 Finals. Since 2015 Vesely began to work with Tomas Berdych ex-coach Tomas Krupa. Jiri has a great serve and backhand, furthermore, he is a left hand, so that is uncomfortable every time for right-handed players. Jiri has participated in Pune ATP Tournament but left in the second round by losing to Paire Benoit in two sets.

Hubert Hurkacz

Hurkacz is one more great young talented player, however, he not fully revealed himself. Strong 21 years old Polish had his best season last year and now standing at 79th position in ATP rating. For the last two seasons, Hubert played 83 matches on hard court and won 55. Most of the tournaments he is playing are Challengers, but that’s a great career start and opportunity to prove himself.

This year Polish have won already 3 matches at Canberra Challenger and got into the semi-final of the tournament.

H2H

Both players haven’t met before. Jiri now showing not his best tennis so he can stumble against everyone, even against players like Hubert. Jiri Vesely and Hurkacz Hubert have played in Pune ATP Tournament, but both of them left it very fast. This time they need to fight for the first Final of this season to gain confidence for the whole season.
