Stefanos Tsitsipas
One of the best next-generation stars, who is currently only 20 years of age and 6th ranked overall, Stefanos Tsitsipas is having a great season once again. He’s got 36 victories out of 54 matches he played this season so far and it could’ve been even more if not the slump he’s facing at the moment. The Greek has lost 3 out of last 4 matches he played against Auger-Alliasime, Khachanov, and even T. Fabbiano. Of course, all of these matches were played on grass and Tsitsipas hasn’t proven himself as a solid grass player so far. But there, on hard ground, it’s absolutely different story. Tsitsipas holds nearly 66% win rate on hard grounds and there would be no surprise if another win streak would start for him tomorrow.
Tommy Paul
22 years old American, who is currently ranked 128 overall has always been a solid player on hard even though his career is still rising. Even though he hasn’t played at such a high level as Tsitsipas did, Tommy does have around 63% win rate on the hard ground overall throughout his career and can’t be underestimated here as well. He’s playing a different style than the Greek does. Paul is smaller than Tsitsipas and doesn’t have such a strong serve, but he can play the baseline and perform well at rallies. Having played two matches after the grass season ended will be a good advantage for the American tomorrow, as Tsitsipas hasn’t played on hard after the Wimbledon.
