Second Quarter-final of an ATP US Open Grand Slam, USA (hard). A very exciting match is waiting for us tomorrow as one of the well-known veterans will face off against the next-gen sensation. To have more insights on this ATP Stan Wawrinka vs Daniil Medvedev match, please check out the preview below.

Stan Wawrinka

34 years old, currently 24th ranked veteran is having a very good run here, at US Open so far. He’s defeated J. Sinner (3-1), J. Chardy (3-1), P. Lorenzi (3-0) and Novak Djokovic (retired) in first 4 rounds, before entering the quarter-final. Wawrinka actually got a little bit lucky by Djokovic not being able to continue playing in 1/8 final. Stan had more time to recover and this is very important knowing that he’s already 34 years old. It felt like all of the main components in Wawrinka’s game were working so far and he has very good chances to reach the semi-final on one of the biggest stages.

Wawrinka has dropped out of US Open in R32 last year and added up a lot of points this year already.

Daniil Medvedev

23 years old, currently 5th ranked Russian is currently facing a possible 11th victory in a row. He hasn’t lost a single match since Cincinnati and has also been probably the most dominating player in last few months. Even though Medvedev has an incredible match history at the moment, he’s already admitted that it’s getting harder and harder with every match played. Daniil has played a lot of matches throughout the last two months and will definitely need some time to recover after this tournament is over. He will have to show his best tennis in order to win tomorrow, but if the match goes longer it’s very likely that Medvedev’s journey at US Open will end tomorrow.

Medvedev has dropped out of R32 last year and has already passed his previous result.
