1/8 final of ATP Grand Slam at Wimbledon. Two players who’ve been playing above the expectations will face off against each other. To have more insights on this ATP Sam Querrey vs Tennys Sandgren match please check out the preview below.

Sam Querrey

31 years old American is having an incredible comeback after not playing for a few months. Not only did he lose only 4 sets in 8 matches he played on grass this season so far, but he has also won 7 out of 8 matches played. Sam got into the final at the first tournament on grass this year at Eastbourne where he fell short against other American Taylor Fritz. He came at Wimbledon right after that defeat against Fritz and started strong by defeating a considered favorite Dominic Thiem by 3 sets to 1. Rublev and Millman were also defeated in straight sets later on.

It seems as Querrey has fully recovered and serve is working very well which leads to many easy points. Querrey has already surpassed his last year’s result at this tournament where he fell out at 1/32 final and every other step he does this year is just a good bonus for him.

Tennys Sandgren

27 years old American is popping off against all of the odds at every match he plays. Sandgren was a heavy underdog in both matches against Simon and Fognini but managed to come out on top and reach this stage. It’s surprising because he hasn’t had any good matches on grass previously only winning once in 4 matches these past 2 years. Suddenly, coming into this year’s grass season he has already won 5 out of 6 matches played and is looking great. Sandgren isn’t the most skilled or dominant player but he is a good all-around player who fights for every point and doesn’t let his emotions to impact the game which leads to great results so far.
