1/16 finals of an ATP US Open Grand Slam, USA (hard). This will be a very interesting match between one of the greatest players ever facing off against a guy who is having a very good season this year. To have more insights on this ATP Roger Federer vs Daniel Evans match, please check out the preview below.
Roger Federer
38 years old veteran, who is still ranked 3rd overall for this day, has 25 victories and only 3 losses this season while playing on a hard surface. It’s something that’s very hard to even imagine, how a guy can just stomp everyone while being 38 years old. Even though Maestro hasn’t looked that dominant in first two rounds of this year’s US Open, he still comfortably defeated S. Nagal and D. Dzumhur in 4 sets. Federer might still need some time to adjust as he hasn’t played for a while, but there is no doubt that he will reach his peak form as the tournament progresses.
Roger has dropped out of US Open early last year. He lost to J. Millman in 4 sets in R16.
Daniel Evans
29 years old, currently 58th ranked Evans will try to do his best to force a good fight out of probably the best one ever. As mentioned before, Evans is having a very good season so far and he’s showing this at US Open as well. He’s defeated A. Mannarino and L. Pouille quite comfortably, winning both matches in 4 sets. Everyone who watched the match today saw how well Evans adapted to Pouilles playstyle. He managed to create a lot of breaking opportunities, what led to his victory. If Evans keeps showing the similar level of play tomorrow, Federer might not have the easiest of times beating this guy.
Evans has not played in the US Open last year.
