1/8 final of an ATP 250 tournament in Antalya, Turkey. This should be an interesting match to wrap up the day as both players have looked in good shapes in previous games they’ve played. To have more insights on this ATP Roberto Carballes Baena vs Adrian Mannarino match please check out the preview below.
Roberto Carballes Baena
72nd ranked 26 years old Spaniard is a rare participant on grass courts. He has played only 8 matches on this ground throughout his almost 10 years career and managed to win only 2 of them. That’s concerning knowing what kind of opponent he will be facing tomorrow but everyone can improve on one ground or another and Baena looked pretty good in his first match at this tournament against Aragone. He’s won that match convincingly in straight sets. Of course, Roberto is mainly a clay player and his play style fits that ground perfectly. He loves slower pace games with longer rallies. However, based on what we’ve seen by him on grass so far this season it looks like he’s improved on this ground and might surprise us tomorrow.
Adrian Mannarino
37th ranked 30 years old Frenchman definitely surprised everyone by winning it all in Hertogenbosch. His road at that tournament wasn’t easy. He managed to overcome such strong grass players like Verdasco, Coric, Goffin, and Thompson while being an underdog in most of these matches. Now he’s coming into his second grass tournament this year and knowing how inconsistent he might be it doesn’t look like such an easy match tomorrow. Every player tends to start slower after winning a tournament. It will be interesting to see if Mannarino manages to take his previous form into this tournament as well. He hasn’t lost on grass this season and is a clear favorite for tomorrow’s match.
