1/8 final at ATP 500 tournament at Halle, Germany. There we have possibly the closest one of tomorrow’s matches as both players are worth each other. To have more insights on this ATP Richard Gasquet vs Roberto Bautista-Agut match please check out the preview below.
Richard Gasquet
Currently, 54th ranked and still dropping Frenchman who can definitely play much better than rank shows. He’s missed most of this season due to severe injuries and now he’s finally looking somewhat like an old Gasquet we all knew and loved. Frenchman had a good warm-up tournament in Hertogenbosch where he only lost to Jordan Thompson in the semi-final. In the first match at Halle Gasquet had no problems defeating Gojowczyk in straight sets. He looked a much better player for most of the match. When healthy Richard is definitely one of the better players on grass we have today. If he stays healthy there is no doubt he will get some points back and start climbing back in the rankings.
Roberto Bautista-Agut
20th ranked Spaniard did not look at his best shape in the last few months. He had some early exits at the tournaments where he used to reach at least 3rd or 4th stage. Munich, Rome, Lyon, Madrid – all of those tournaments ended up with Bautista losing at the opening or at the second round and that’s not a good sign. Bautista has a decent clay game but mostly shines on hard. It will be interesting to see him matching up against one of the better players on grass as Bautista himself doesn’t have such a long history of playing at this ground compared to Gasquet.
