To have more insights on this ATP Pablo Andujar vs Leonardo Mayer match please check out the preview below.
Pablo Andujar
33 years old Spaniard is currently ranked 76th overall. Andujar has played mostly on clay ground throughout his career and also managed to win 448 out of 724 matches played and this is definitely a great result. Anyway, due to his age and some problems with unstopping injuries, Andujar has missed a lot of games these past seasons. He is playing mostly at lower-tier tournaments these days. Spaniard has managed to win 3 challenger titles this season so far at Marbella, Alicante, and Prostejov. Even though it’s only challenger tournament but some of the better players were defeated on the way what means that Andujar is playing good tennis these days and looking better. This will be a first bigger tournament for him after playing a few challenges. It will be interesting to see if he can keep the same good form he showed previously.
Leonardo Mayer
32 years old Argentinian, who is currently ranked 60th, has not had the best season so far. As he has over 60% win rate throughout his career playing on clay grounds. Mayer has only won 7 out of 17 matches he played this season so far on this specific ground. He’s played at 10 different tournaments until this one and only the French Open were the promising one. 9 of his first 10 tournaments this year Mayer couldn’t reach past the 2nd round, but he finally looked like something like a player everyone were expecting to see at French Open. Argentinian defeated players like Schwartzman, Vesely, and Magut and only lost to Federer at R16. This result leads to more expectations from Leonardo as it’s the best time to get some points back after losing many games previously this year.
