32 year old Serbian is once again proving why he is currently the best in the world. Before the semi-final match against Bautista started, many expected this to be a straightforward task for Djokovic but Spaniard had some other plans. He threw everything he had at Djokovic, but it took him only a set to work out how to overcome this challenge and to strike back after losing a second set. Relentless, passionate, emotional and simply incredible are the words which describe Novak’s performance on Friday. 2018’s Wimbledon champion is looking sharp and has only lost 2 sets throughout his 6 matches journey up till this stage.
This will be Novak’s 6th Wimbledon final while he’s won 4 out of previous 5 played. It also feels like Djokovic is having some good times while playing against Federer as he’s won 8 of the last 10 matches played against the Mastro.
37 years old Swiss just never stops surprising. Federer, the oldest semi-finalist in a Grand Slam semi-final since Jimmy Connors at the 1991 US Open, broken Nadal for the first time in the fourth game of the 3rd set and never looked back ever since by finishing the match in 4 sets. It looked like Nadal had taken over the match in the 2nd set after winning it heavily 6-1 but Roger hasn’t let down. Of course, Nadal is not the best player he can be on grass as his best ground for sure is clay, but he definitely played a great tournament and had a good run.
Tomorrow will be a harder matchup as Djokovic is a better player on grass than Nadal is and overall is a hard match for Federer, who, as mentioned previously, has lost 8 out of last 10 matches played against Djokovic. Federer has proved that he can never be underestimated at any circumstances, but it will definitely require some magic from him once again to win the trophy for the 9th time.
