The Final of ATP1000 Masters in Rome is here for us. Two of the greats faces each other once again as Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal in this awaited battle. Novak reached the final only giving away 1 set through the whole tournament while Rafal hasn’t lost a single set this tournament yet. It’s the second ATP Masters 1000 final in a row for Djokovic as Rafa lost to Tsitsipas at the semi-final in Madrid last week. To have more insights on this match check out the preview below.

Novak Djokovic

8 wins in a row and only 1 lost set is quite an impressive run for the Serbian. Novak Djokovic seems to have found a formula of success on clay this season as he’s fixed all those little things that have been bothering him before and 2 finals in 2 weeks say a lot about his current form. Novak has lost to Rafael in this Master Series tournament in Rome last year. He lost the match 6-7 3-6. Knowing that Djokovic was struggling at that time and was nowhere near the kind of form. Now he is showing us now it’s expected to be a much better game for him. So he might finally overcome Rafa if keeps playing this way.

Rafael Nadal

It’s very hard to say something negative about a guy who hasn’t lost a single set in a tournament yet. Rafa looks impressive but he’s shown us some weaknesses this season as well and it can’t be neglected. Even though he seemed destined to reach the final in Madrid he fell short to Tsitsipas and were not playing his best tennis as he also did the same in Barcelona against Thiem. Fatigue might also affect him here as players in this tournament had to play 5 games in 4 days knowing that this is the next tournament in 2 weeks and he had some health issues previously.

H2H

Novak and Rafa have faced each other 22 times on clay. Rafa holds the winning record by taking away 15 matches and losing only 7.
