Even though Novak had a real test against the Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov earlier today, he still managed to close the match out in straight sets. Also, Novak hasn’t given a single breakpoint opportunity for the second match in a row, which shows just how dominating he currently is. Denis Shapovalov

20 years old, currently 28th ranked Canadian is having one of the better runs this year. He’s managed to win the title in Stockholm, Sweden and has now reached the final stage of the ATP 1000 tournament, which is a great accomplishment for any young player. Shapovalov had a tough run till this stage and had to beat G. Simon, F. Fognini, A. Zverev and G. Monfils on his way here. A bit of luck was on his side as well, because Nadal had to withdraw for the tournament and Shapovalov had a free pass without having to play a semi-final. This might also help for his stamina, but a day off shouldn’t be a deciding factor in a match against one of the best players ever.
