The first round of an ATP 500 tournament at Hamburg, Germany. Two of the best young players, who are great at playing on clay, will face off against each other tomorrow. To have more insights on this ATP Nicolas Jarry vs Alexander Zverev match please check out the preview below.
Nicolas Jarry
Nicolas is one of the most promising young talents, who is currently being ranked 38th in the world. He’s 23 years old but has already had some great moments at the highest stages. Clay is by far the best ground for him as Jarry has around 65% win rate on it throughout his career. Before entering the grass season, Jarry got into the final of Geneva, where he’s lost to tomorrow’s opponent, Alexander Zverev. This might be a very good chance to get revenge and prove himself once again. The biggest concern for Jarry is how will he be able to perform after winning a title at ATP 250 tournament at Bastad yesterday. Usually, it takes some time for players to recover after such a long tournament but we’ll have to see it tomorrow.
Alexander Zverev
Alexander is a little bit younger than Nicolas, 22 years old. He’s now 5th overall and only about 200 ranking points behind the 4th spot. Zverev is often considered as the best next-generation start and is expected to take over the rankings after the “Big Three (Novak, Rafa, and Roger)” retires. These are some high expectations for such a young guy and the most worrying thing is his inconsistency. It just feels like German doesn’t try his best at lower-ranked tournaments and is too emotional sometimes. Zverev has all the abilities in the world to perform: great serve, great return, strong backhand, he’s also fast and we could mention all of the things, but he needs to improve on his mental state and psychical preparation before entering the match, otherwise this great talent might not fulfill all of its abilities.
