The second round of an ATP US Open Grand Slam, USA (hard). There we have once of the youngest players of the tournament facing off against one of the veterans in an exciting battle. To have more insights on this ATP Miomir Kecmanovic vs Paolo Lorenzi match, please check out the preview below.
Miomir Kecmanovic
19 years old, who is currently ranked 50th overall is rising in rankings with almost every tournament played. A young Serbian has won 50 out of 75 matches played from the start of the last season until this year’s US Open. It’s incredible how much this guy has improved throughout the past few years and it’s a very high chance that he’ll knock at Top20 next year. Kecmanovic is a good all-around player who has very few weaknesses in this game. Of course, the main weakness coming into the biggest hard tournament of the year will be his inexperience on such a high level.
Kecmanovic hasn’t played in US Open last year, so every victory this year is adding up some points to his overall score.
Paolo Lorenzi
37 years old veteran, who is currently ranked 135th overall has always been mostly clay courts player. He’s played more than 800 matches on this ground throughout his career while playing on hard in nearly 300 matches as well. Of course, the experience will be on his side tomorrow, but overall Lorenzi’s performance in the first round wasn’t very optimistic for sure. He struggled against 16 years old American player Z. Svajda and needed all 5 sets in order to reach the second stage. His physical condition might not be the best for tomorrow’s match and it will be very hard to overcome a rising Serbian talent tomorrow.
Lorenzi has dropped out of US Open in R64 last year, so he doesn’t have a lot to lose here.
