To have more insights on this ATP Matteo Berrettini vs Rafael Nadal match, please check out the preview below.

Matteo Berrettini

23 years old, currently 25th ranked Italian will rise to Top 15 in rankings after this tournament is over. He’s managed to win 2 titles this season already. Now he is in the semi-final at one of the biggest tournaments of the year. It’s a really incredible season for this young Italian and he’s playing with a very good mindset as well. Berrettini is always fighting for every point and doesn’t give any free opportunities for his opponents. Even though he were placed as an underdog against Rublev and Monfils, he managed to come out on top and prove himself once again on the highest stage. Berrettini is strong, competitive and has an aggresive playstyle. This guy can’t be underestimated and we’ll have to see what does Berrettini have to show against one of the bests.

Rafael Nadal

33 years old, 2nd ranked Spaniard is currently holding a 10 win streak. He hasn’t lost since Wimbledon. Rafa won the title at Montreal where he’s lost only a single set and now he’s doing the same at US Open. He’s lost only a single set so far as well, to Marin Cilic. All of his other matches were ended in straight sets and Rafa looks like the favourite to win it all. Nadal’s defensive play-style and some tricky shots are hard to handle for most of his opponents who aren’t used to it and this is the main weapon that Spaniard will use against Berrettini as well. Nadal has been dominant this tournament so far. However, knowing how competitive Berrettini is, Spaniard won’t have such an easy time as many may expect.
