25-year-old Frenchman can definitely be compared to Grigor Dimitrov as both players can’t reach their true capabilities and fulfill the expectations that have been put on them. Pouille has everything to become a Top 10 player – he’s fast, can defend, can attack, has strong both backhand and forehand, can serve well and is a great all-around player as well. All he needs is mental toughness and consistency. If he finally improves these two things he can definitely start climbing the rankings quickly. He’s not having the best start of this season so far but he played well on grass last year. He started this grass season with a victory over Feliciano Lopez this season as well. He can definitely perform on this ground and we’ll have to see in what shape he shows up tomorrow.
One of the next generation talents who is only 23 years of age but is already a 13th ranked player in the world. This young Russian had an incredible season last year as he’s won 46 of 61 matches he played on hard and indoors combined. He’s also won 2 tournaments last year including one in Winston Salem and the second one in Sydney where he beat De Minaur, Fognini and some other good players as well. Last season was the main reason he climbed the ladder so quickly and there are some high expectations for this young man this season. Medvedev has lost his last 4 matches in a row and tomorrow will be a chance for him to come back on track.
