1/8 finals of an ATP 250 tournament at Eastbourne, United Kingdom. This should be an exciting match as both players are locals at this tournament and will definitely give their best to come out on top. To have more insights on this ATP Kyle Edmund vs Cameron Norrie match please check out the preview below.
Kyle Edmund
31st ranked 24 years old Englishman still doesn’t look like himself. It’s really sad to see such a skilled player losing out almost every single match due to not being able to recover from injuries. Even though he is not the best clay player he should’ve still been able to win more than he did by winning only 2 of 8 matches. There’s still a chance that Edmund did not want to force his real comeback and was just warming up on clay before the season of his favorite hard ground has started. He is a good and steady player on hard but the grass has never been his favorite ground as well. The biggest question for tomorrow’s game is how well Edmund be able to adapt on the grass and in which condition he enters the match.
Cameron Norrie
49th ranked 23 years old Englishman is having a similar story as tomorrow’s opponent. Norrie had some minor injuries that were stopping him from playing at full strength and that’s one of the reasons his results were not as good as expected so far. Norrie is a good hard player with an over 66% career win rate overall but he hasn’t proven himself on the grass. He’s won only 7 out of 22 matches he played on this ground and tomorrow is a good chance to recover knowing that Edmund is also struggling on this ground. Norrie has already debuted at this tournament and managed to beat a considered favorite for the match Jeremy Chardy in straight sets. If he continues to play in a similar way he did today he might overcome Edmund’s challenge as well.
