To have more insights on this ATP Karen Khachanov vs Martin Klizan match please check out the preview below.
Khachanov is one of the brightest upcoming stars in ATP. He has a great future ahead of him given that he is already a top tier player. Karen prefers hard ground over clay and that’s where things can get confusing. Even though he won his first 2 matches quite easily neither Barrere nor Stebe are considered to be more than average clay players. That’s why tomorrow’s matchup will answer some questions about how will Khachanov be able to match up against one of the clay experts who prefers this ground over any other.
Karen Khachanov had 180 points to defend here as he’s reached R16 last year. He already passed the result of his last performance at this tournament but there would be no surprise to see him playing in the quarter-final.
Currently ranked 55th overall but given his ability to perform on clay the match should suddenly become a very interesting one. Klizan isn’t the most flashy, entertaining of the most likable player but he plays solid controlled tennis. He is also great rallies and finding ways to attack. In his first two games, Klizan showed what kind of fighter he is. 0-2 down in sets he managed to climb back and win the game 3 sets to 2. The next game against Pouille was also very close one and Pouille had a lead in 5th set but once again Klizan came up clutch. We have to see how much more left in the tank he has but the will he is playing with is demanding respect.
Martin Klizan dropped out in R64 at Roland Garros last year. He also has passed his previous result in the tournament. We have to see how much further he can go.
