Quarter-finals of an ATP 1000 tournament at Montreal, Canada (hard). This will be a very exciting match between two of the youngest participants who’ve reached this stage. To have more insights on this ATP Karen Khachanov vs Alexander Zverev match, please check out the preview below.

Karen Khachanov

23 years old Russian, who is currently ranked 8th overall, had a little bit of luck reaching this stage. Khachanov defeated Stan Wawrinka in the opening match in 3 sets and showed great tennis, but yesterday were the day that it felt like he had to drop out. After being 5-3 up in the first set, Russian has lost his serving game and Auger-Aliasime took over the set and even managed to break Khachanov in the first game of the 2nd set. Anyway, Canadians inexperience showed up and Khachanov completed the comeback victory in 3 sets. Karen played decent tennis so far but his performance against Felix-Auger in first 1 and a half set were not great and due to that, he had to spend a lot more time on court that it would’ve been needed.

Alexander Zverev

22 years old 7th ranked German were also very close to being eliminated yesterday at the match against N. Basilashvili. A. Zverev were definitely struggling at that match and 14 double faults and 0 saved break points out of 5 is the best example of that. Anyway, he managed to show up when it was needed the most and took over the match in 3rd set’s tiebreak. Alexander has won 13 out of 18 matches he played on hard this season including 2 victories here. It feels like Zverev tends to have a hard time against hard servers such as Kyrgios, Khachanov and Raonic. Tomorrow’s match won’t be an easy task for the higher-ranked German player.
