Only 78th ranked in the world but Londero is playing great tennis this season. He’s won a tournament in Cordoba a few months back and keeps playing at a good level since then. Londero denied the odds against Basilashvili and Gasquet where he was considered an underdog but managed to win both matches 3-0 against Basilashvili and 3-1 against Gasquet. In the 3rd round of this tournament, he passed the test of C. Moutet who was playing insanely well at his home crowd but Londero came out as a winner in 5 sets. It’s hard to see him winning tomorrow but the fact is we will see how good Londero has really become against Nadal.
Londero hasn’t played in French Open last season so he will add up a lot of points to his wallet. Argentinian is a fighter and he will surely try his best against Rafa tomorrow.
King of clay finally lost a set in this tournament and it happened in the last tour against David Goffin. Even though he gave Goffin a set Rafa still won the match 3 sets to 1. Nadal also steamrolled over Maden and Hanfmann in first two rounds winning both matches in straight sets. Of course, he will be considered a favorite in every match he plays on clay but there shouldn’t be any free matches anymore. Rafa is showing no weaknesses in his game but we have to see how is he able to play longer matches if it gets to the distance because he had some problems with stamina previously.
Nadal is defending his title in Roland Garros and there is no doubt about his motivation for this tournament. Got to see how Rafa manages his first real test in this year’s French Open tomorrow.
