The first round of an ATP US Open Grand Slam, USA (hard). There we have a local American who will try to prove himself on the biggest stage once again facing off against an Argentinian veteran. To have more insights on this ATP Jack Sock vs Pablo Cuevas match, please check out the preview below.

Jack Sock

26 years old, currently 178th ranked American has only played 6 matches this season and hasn’t won a single one of them. He’s missed most of the season due to injuries and that led to dropping in rankings that far. Anyway, even though he hasn’t won yet, it seemed like Sock were finally finding the rhythm in his last few matches and were close to getting some victories. He spent most of his career playing on a hard surface and he will play at his home crowd tomorrow as well, so this guy should not be underestimated. Jack has a good serve and can also hit the ball pretty hard. If he manages to stay healthy for tomorrow’s match there is a good chance we will see him in the next stage.

Pablo Cuevas

33 years old, currently 53rd ranked Argentinian is considered a favourite for tomorrow’s match, but he must be overestimated a little bit. Cuevas has only played 8 matches on the hard surface this season and managed to win 4 of them. Cuevas mostly plays on clay and this is the ground he shines most, while hard is more like a warm-up for him in order to keep his form at a good level. It’s hard to tell with what kind of mindset Cuevas comes into this tournament, but the fact is that he’s nowhere near the level of player on a hard surface that Jack Sock is while both of them are healthy.
