F. Tiafoe vs G. Dimitrov one more great match of the 1/8 – Finals at Australian Open Grand Slam Tournament taking place in Australia. Both talented players will play in a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Francis Tiafoe

Francis Tiafoe is a very talented young player with big potential. During this tournament, he faces lots of challenges and has already won three matches against great players. Firstly, American won against Indian P. Gunneswaran in straight 3 sets with one tie break. He saved 4 of 6 break points and made 5. He is a strong player with a good serve, however, at this match, he made only 7 and 3 double faults. Secondly, he met F. Anderson, a very experienced player with a great serve and interesting style of play. Tiafoe won in 4 sets by making a comeback. At this match he made 10 aces and only 2 double faults, most interesting that he had 14 break points, however, Anderson saved 10 of them. Thirdly, Tiafoe played hard match against skilled Italian A. Seppi. Francis defeated Andrea in 5 sets match 6:7/6:3/4:6/6:4/6:3. This time American did already 16 aces and 5 double faults. This match was long and very tough, so he needs to take a rest for preparing to another match at 1/8 Final of Australian Open Grand Slam Tournament. Finally, F. Tiafoe will give a great fight for strong G. Dimitrov and we hope he will show all the potential that he has in his pocket.

Grigor Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov is a very strong and skilled player. He can play in different ways because he adapts to the court and his opponent very well. Best career year was 2017 as he stood at 3rd position of ATP Ratings. Last year Dimitrov played in the Final of Rotterdam and lost to R. Federer. Bulgarian reached two semi-finals and one of these was at Monte Carlo Master where he was knocked out by R. Nadal. In total, he had a great season with ups and downs. This year he already played in the quarter-final of Brisbane ATP tournament where lost in two sets against K. Nishikori, however, at Australian Open he faced not so strong players as Japanese. At first round he won against legend J. Tipsarevic in 4 sets, then with the same result defeated P. Cuevas on not most likely ground for him, and finally, he won in straight sets against Italian T. Fabbiano.

H2H

These players met two times last season, where most lucky was G. Dimitrov, however F. Tiafoe gained lots of experience and confidence so he could give a fight to Bulgarian this time.
