26 years old, currently 5th ranked Austrian is playing great at this tournament and has only lost a single set throughout 4 matches he’s played. Thiem defeated R. Gasquet, Zhang and A. Murray in first 3 rounds in straight sets and followed it up with a victory against K. Khachanov while even being 0-1 down after the first set. Dominic’s form is on a high level and he’s been hitting pretty much everything without doing a lot of unforced errors. Stefanos Tsitsipas
21 years old, currently 7th ranked Greek has shown some signs of consistency after not being able to perform in his previous tournaments. Tsitsipas struggled in first 2 matches against D. Lajovic and N. Basilashvili but managed to overcome the deficit in order to win both matches 2-1. Even though it’s really strange, but somehow Tsitsipas has been playing a lot better against potentially stronger opponents and defeated J. Isner and A. Zverev in straight sets to reach the final. Tsitsipas were getting better and better throughout the tournament and his game is on the peak at the moment and that’s one of the reasons he’s considered as a small favourite for the match.
