Thiem has been demonstrating awesome form since 3rd round of this tournament, after fighting against A. Bolt in the 2nd round for 5 sets. After this match, Thiem have stepped up and he’s been looking better and better with each upcoming round. Dominic have lost the 1st set against A.Zverev in today’s semi-final but recovered quickly enough to come back into the match. Thiem have made a lot of unforced errors that haven’t appeared in his match against Nadal and that led to a lot tougher match and it was expected. Anyway, Thiem managed to overcome the deficit and prove that he’s definitely on his best form coming into the final.

World’s 2nd racket had a tougher semi-final than most of the analysts predicted. R. Federer had some health issues and hasn’t been at his 100%, but Djokovič struggled to take over the match for quite a while and even trailed 3-5 in the 1st set. Anyway, Djokovič managed to recover and slowly but surely kept breaking Federer in each set, what led to Serbian winning the match in straight sets. Djokovič has been playing well as usual, but he’s also having some problems with eye-lashes and it’s definitely easy to notice. It’s hard to tell if this is going to affect his game, but in order to win against in-form Thiem, Djokovič will definitely have to be on his top game as well.
