Diego Schwartzman

27 years old, who is currently ranked 21st overall is going to climb back to Top 20 as he’s already passed his previous result here, at US Open. Schwartzman played well so far, but he also got a bit lucky with a draw as he didn’t have to face any top tier player until the 1/8 final. He’s defeated R. Haase (3-0), E. Gerasimov (3-0), T. Sandgren (3-0) in first 3 rounds and A. Zverev (3-1) in 1/8 final. The match against Zverev were a really interesting one as most people gave up on Schwartzman after losing the 1st set, but Argentinian managed to stay strong and win next 3 sets. Diego is playing better than expected, but to match well against Nadal he will need to play even better than that.

Rafael Nadal

33 years old, 2nd world’s racked is no stranger to winning US Open and has a very good draw to repeat that again this year. Nadal’s biggest rival against Federer might only happen in the final and he’s got very good chances to reaching it. Nadal has lost only a single set against an in-form M. Cilic, in 1/8 final. He’s also defeated J. Millman and H. Chung in first few rounds in straight sets without even giving a single chance to think about victory. Nadal is looking sharp and he also hasn’t lost against Schwartzman a single time in all 7 of their meetings. It’s hard to see Nadal losing the match tomorrow and he’s the favourite for it.
