Christian Garin
23 years old, currently 42nd ranked Chilian have been playing well recently even though the hard surface is not the one that he enjoys the most. Garin defeated P. Cuevas in the opening round and followed it up with the upset against J. Isner in 2 sets and also an upset against J. Chardy earlier today. It’s also worth to mention that Chardy came into today’s match after defeating D. Medvedev, who were playing out of his mind recently. Grigor Dimitrov
28 years old, currently 27th ranked Bulgarian is shining brightly in this tournament. Dimitrov hasn’t played well since the US Open and were dropping out of every tournament in first two rounds since then. Anyway, he came into Paris with a different mindset and in better shape, what led to dominating victories and upsets against D. Thiem and D. Goffin. Dimitrov won both of these matches in straight sets. Fun fact is that Dimitrov’s toughest opponent in this tournament were the one that nobody would think of compared to the other two – U. Humbert. Dimitrov won that match in the 3rd set after losing the first one. Everyone knows that Grigor can be one of the best players on tour and it seems like he’s coming not to participate but to win something here.
