Yoel Romero vs Paulo Costa is one more great fight of Ultimate Fighting Championship. It is the middleweight bout of UFC 241 which will take place in Anaheim, California. Both middleweights will have a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this bout here below.
On the 17th of August, UFC is coming to California. At UFC 239 former interim UFC Middleweight Championship challenger Yoel ‘Soldier of God’ Romero (13-3) will face undefeated UFC fighter Paulo ‘The Eraser’ Costa (12-0). These men are very strong physically and they have real power in their hands. It should be an amazing fight.
Yoel ‘Soldier of God’ Romero
Yoel Romero has problems with making weight. In his last two fights, he missed weight. At UFC 221 he fought with Luke Rockhold for the interim UFC Middleweight title. But Romero missed weight (187.7 lb) and became ineligible for the title. That fight he won by a spectacular knockout. Now Yoel Romero is coming off a loss to reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker back at UFC 225. It was for the UFC Middleweight title but unfortunately, Romero missed weight again (185.2 lb) and became ineligible for the title. But still, he lost by split decision. He is a very big guy for a middleweight and it is understandable why he struggles to make weight. Yoel Romero is a freak athlete: very strong, insanely athletic, explosive fighter. Also, he is a great striker, often finishes fights.
Paulo ‘The Eraser’ Costa
Paulo Costa is undefeated UFC fighter and he is a rising star. He won his all 13 fights (12 by a knockout!) in the UFC against strong fighters like Johny Hendricks and Uriah Hall. Costa last fought at UFC 226 back in July 2018. Then he defeated Uriah Hall by a TKO and won a Performance of the Night. Now Paulo Costa is back and looking forward to getting a title shot in the near future. ‘The Eraser’ is a great boxer, has a good jab, real power in his punches. Also, Costa is fast and accurate with his punches, which he mixes with a lot of good kicks. Brazilian is not a great submission specialist but he could finish a fight by submission.
