Former division champion, Tyron Woodley, will face off against Leon Edwards. It was a tough fight to lock down as “The Chosen One” wasn’t too keen on flying all the way to London for a UFC fight. Especially against a man who he doesn’t seem to respect too much. Nevertheless, the contracts have been signed and the fight happen. Moreover, the winner will likely earn himself a shot at the title later this year after current division king, Kamaru Usman, faces top contender, Jorge Masvidal. Tyron Woodley
Woodley has not competed inside the Octagon since he lost his belt against Kamaru Usman in March 2019, so it will be exactly a year since his last fight. Prior to the loss, Tyron has defended his welterweight throne against Demian Maia and Stephen Thompson after wining it from Robbie Lawler. Of note, Woodley’s Brabo Choke victory over Till is the first of its kind in a UFC title fight. This is a good chance for American to try to come back on top.
Leon Edwards
Edwards is currently on a career-high- he has won eight fights in a row, beating opponents like Donald Cerrone, Vincente Luque and Rafael Dos Anjos along the way. Edwards holds only one defeat in his home country of England throughout his career, coming by way of disqualification when he landed an illegal knee on Delroy McDowell in 2012. But it was a very long time ago, and nothing else like this happened.
