Thompson vs Pettis is one more great fight of Ultimate Fighting Championship. It’s the main event of UFC Fight Night 148 which will take place in Nashville, Tennessee. It‘s the welterweight (170 pounds) bout. Both fighters will have a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this bout here below.

On the 3rd of March, these two welterweights will face each other at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Former two-time title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (14-3-1) will face former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis (21-8).  Both fighters are elite strikers, both are very technical and hungry for a title so we believe that it will be a great fight.

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson

Stephen Thompson is coming back from a close decision loss to Darren Till in past May. He will definitely try to bounce back and win this fight. Thompson fought for the title 2 times but no one of them was successful for him. “Wonderboy” now is No.6 in the welterweight division and will try to climb the ladder to the title once again. “Wonderboy” is one of the best strikers in the UFC today. His kickboxing career was insane (57-0). Thompson is considered the best kickboxer in the USA or even in the whole world. Besides his phenomenal striking, he is a good wrestler too – has great takedown defense. But we all know that “Wonderboy” is the most dangerous on his feet.

Anthony “Showtime” Pettis

Anthony Pettis moves up to welterweight for the first time in his career. He is coming off a loss against Tony Ferguson at UFC 229. It was a disappointing loss for Pettis because he broke his hand and Anthony’s corner stopped the fight which “Showtime” could win. Pettis has a unique combination of traditional MMA skills along with lightning-fast submissions especially off of his back. He’s an elite striker has powerful and technical leg kicks. “Showtime” likes to fight on his feet, throw a lot of feints to help set up his crushing fight ending kicks.

H2H

These fighters never met each other in the octagon.
