Rose Namajunas vs Jessica Andrade – 11/05/2019 Preview

Namajunas vs Andrade is one more great fight of Ultimate Fighting Championship. It’s the main event of UFC 237 which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s the women’s strawweight (115 pounds) bout for the UFC women’s strawweight title. Both fighters will have a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this bout here below.

UFC is coming back to Brazil. On the 11th of May, in the main event UFC women’s strawweight reigning champion “Thug” Rose Namajunas (8-3) will face #1 strawweight in UFC women’s strawweight division Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade (19-6) at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. To Andrade, it will be second chance to become a UFC women’s strawweight champion but we believe that Namajunas will do everything she could to defend her title once again.

“Thug” Rose Namajunas

Rose Namajunas is coming off a two spectacular wins Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Back in UFC 217 “Thug Rose” as a big underdog shocked the MMA world by knocking out cold then-champion, undefeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk and became new women’s strawweight champion. Then, after the 5-round battle, she proved doubters wrong by winning a rematch against Jedrzejczyk by decision at UFC 223. Women’s strawweight champion is a very durable fighter, has great finishing instincts. Has a great striking, knockout power. Also Rose has an incredible submission game. It shows her 5 wins out of 8 by submission. She is young, just 26 years old, so she is still only getting better every day. Considering her young age, she could be a champion for a very long time.

Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade

Jessica Andrade is on the top of women strawweight in the world. Andrade is now #1 ranked strawweight in UFC women’s strawweight division. She definitely earned a shot at the title after a brutal KO win against Karolina Kowalkiewicz back at UFC 228 in September. She won her 6 of 7 last fights, only losing to then-champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Jessica Andrade is a real deal.  The Brazilian is very strong physically, likes to fight moving forward. Also, she is a good striker.
