On the 6th of October UFC comes back to Australia. At the Marvel Stadium current UFC Middleweight Champion Robert ‘The Reaper’ Whittaker (20-4) will defend his belt. Next opponent will be UFC Middleweight Champion Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya (17-0). It will be a very interesting fight because Adesanya hasn’t lost a fight in his MMA career and Whittaker is undefeated since he moved to middleweight.
Robert ‘The Reaper’ Whittaker
This will be Robert Whittaker’s first fight since his title defense against Yoel Romero back in June 2018. Whittaker is a unique fighter and yet he doesn’t get the respect that he deserves. In his homecoming, Whittaker has an opportunity to show why he is the best middleweight in the world. He is on the 9 fight winning streak which is really impressive because he’s fought a lot of strong fighters and finished them in spectacular ways. Whittaker is very fast and powerful. ‘The Reaper’ is an active striker – he lands 4.95 significant strikes per minute. Robert is the aggressor and lands brilliant combinations. He is a great wrestler, which will be a big factor for his fight with Adesanya because Nigerian’s wrestling hasn’t been tested yet.
Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya
Israel Adesanya is coming off an amazing 5-round fight (which will go down as one of the greatest fights of the year) with Kelvin Gastelum for interim UFC Middleweight title. Adesanya won that fight by unanimous decision and became interim UFC Middleweight Champion. Now Nigerian is looking forward to becoming the real UFC Middleweight Champion. In the fight with Gastelum, he showed that he has a heart of the champion by dominating Gastelum in the final round. Adesanya is one of the highest level kickboxers in MMA today. He is fighting with a lot of confidence, has heavy use of kicks. His striking is fantastic, Israel strikes from unorthodox angles. Also ‘The Last Stylebender’ is incredibly technical and composed.
