Former UFC champ Cody Garbrandt champ will make his final bantamweight stop against Raphael Assuncao on 6th of June at UFC APEX, in Las Vegas United States. After their originally scheduled matchup fell apart at the cancelled UFC Columbus in March, Garbrandt (11-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and Assuncao (27-7 MMA, 11-3 UFC) will run it back on an unnamed UFC card on June 6.

Cody Garbrandt

Cody‘s fame did not last, after his amazing performance against Dominick Cruz, he fought twice his ex-teammate TJ Dillashaw, but both times managed to make same mistake ant both times lost. When Cody steps up into the cage, it will be more than a year since his previous outing. After his back-to-back fights against TJ, Garbrandt took on Pedro Munhoz at UFC 235 in March. While he had some success early, Cody once again proved that his fighting style might be a huge issue. Aggressively charging at Munhoz, Garbrandt was caught and finished with punches in round 1. „No Love“needs to win this fight to regain his trust, because 3 losses in a row, don‘t get him near title shot.

Raphael Assuncao

As for Assuncao, the 37-year-old Brazilian is coming off of back-to-back losses for the first time since 2010. His most recent defeat came at UFC 241 in August, when he dropped a three-round decision to rising contender Cory Sandhagen. This will be also a very difficult fight, because Raphael is not as fast as he was in his prime days, and Cody‘s main strength is his speed. However, a huge key to victory here might be an experience, which Raphael has much more, and if Cody will not make conclusions and will once again press forward attacking, the Brazilian might catch him at the right time.
