Edson Barboza vs Paul Felder 2 is one more great fight of Ultimate Fighting Championship. It’s the lightweight bout of UFC 242 which will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Both fighters will have a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this bout here below.

On the 7th of September, the event will mark the promotion’s third visit to Abu Dhabi. At UFC 242 #7 lightweight in UFC Lightweight division, Edson ‘Junior’ Barboza (20-7) will #10 lightweight in UFC Lightweight division Paul ‘The Irish Dragon’ Felder (16-4).  Back in 2015, in their first encounter, Edson Barboza defeated Paul Felder by unanimous decision.

Edson ‘Junior’ Barboza

Edson Barboza is coming off a KO loss to Justin Gaethje back in March. Past years for ‘Junior’ hadn’t been very good. Since 2017, he won just 1 of his 4 last fights in the Octagon. Barboza is in UFC for years – he made his UFC debut back in 2010. That is why he is so experienced fighter who had been in deep waters before. A 33 years old Brazilian is a very quick and explosive athlete. The striking specialist has very powerful leg kicks which feel like blades to opponents. UFC commentator Joe Rogan has said that Barboza is ‘probably the best kicker in MMA’. Brazilian’s ground game isn’t very wonderful, and you won’t see it often in his fights because Barboza likes to fight on his feet. However, he has a quite good takedown and submission defense.

Paul ‘The Irish Dragon’ Felder

Paul Felder is coming off a unanimous decision win over James Vick back in February. Felder has won 4 of his last 5 fights in the Octagon. 35-year-old hasn’t lost at lightweight since 2016 when he was defeated by Francisco Trinaldo. ‘The Irish Dragon’ is a very talented fighter. He likes to pressure his opponents, throw feints and punches. Felder likes to fight on the feet and trade punches with his opponents, rather fighting on the ground. American is an amazingly tough fighter – he can observe a lot of painful strikes and still move forward to hit that poker face.
