Diego Sanchez vs Michael Chiesa is one more great fight of Ultimate Fighting Championship. It is welterweight bout at UFC 239, which will take place in Las Vegas. Nevada. Both welterweights will have a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this bout here below.

On the 6th of July UFC is coming back to Las Vegas. At UFC 239 the Ultimate Fighter 1 Middleweight Tournament Winner Diego ‘Nightmare’ Sanchez (29-11) will face former LOTC Lightweight Championship Michael ‘Maverick’ Chiesa (15-4). Both fighters are coming off a win in their last fights so it should be an interesting fight.

Diego ‘Nightmare’ Sanchez

Diego Sanchez is coming off a vicious second-round TKO against Mickey Gall at UFC 235 back in March.  Now he is on a two-fight winning streak and definitely looking forward to extending this number. The middleweight tournament during the inaugural season of TUF winner has a strong chin. In his all 40 UFC fights, he had been only KO’d 2 times. Sanchez had absorbed 1,117 head strikes in his UFC career, third all-time behind Tito Ortiz and BJ Penn. ‘Nightmare’ has the ability to fight in front of fighters faces and always push the pace. Sanchez is a very unpredictable fighter so it would be interesting to see what he is able to show in his upcoming fight.

Michael ‘Maverick’ Chiesa

Michael Chiesa is coming off a second-round submission win over very dangerous UFC striker Carlos Condit at UFC 232 back in December 2018. His last 5 fights were finished by submission including two losses to Kevin Lee and Anthony Pettis. Former lightweight is now 1-0 in the welterweight division and definitely looking forward to getting another win. ‘Maverick’ is a real submission specialist. He is very dangerous on the ground – on the top and on his back. His striking is not very accurate – Chiesa often overextends, keeps his head still, kicks from to close. But it would be not fair to say that he is not good on his feet. Chiesa is long, lanky athlete likes to throw kicks and his punches is decent.
