Villarreal vs Real Madrid will be one of the most interesting La Liga Sunday matches, which will be held at Estadio de la Ceramica, in Villareal. The teams are in a completely different class, but after big changes in the squad of Real Madrid, everything does not work out as planned. The team plays far from their maximum but is gaining points and building plans to be on top with the new TOP players in the squad. At this time, Villarreal has a plan to stay in La Liga and be in the top ten after last season failure.

As we can see from head to head statistics, Villarreal is an uncomfortable opponent for Real Madrid. During the last 2 seasons, they met 4 times in La Liga and have the same amount of wins. In 2018th Villarreal even won against Madridistas at Santiago Bernabeu with 0:1 result by late P. Fornals goal. After, teams have drawn 2 matches in a row with the same 2:2 result and finally Real won at home at the end of the last season with a productive 3:2 result. We believe that this match will be even more tough for both teams, so read our thoughts on this Villarreal vs Real Madrid La Liga game here below.

Villarreal

Villarreal played this season twice against Granada at home, and met Levante at Estadi Ciutat de València, in Valencia. In general, they showed really great performance in the attack, however, couldn’t stay strong in defence. They collected only 1 point out of 2 played games, as they lost against Levante and have drawn match with Granda.

Villarreal led the match against Granada by two goals, however, lost the lead and finished the match with 4:4 result. The team realized the moments very well, but unfortunately, they left holes in the defence. Veteran Santi Cazorla showed himself very well and brought a lot of useful things to the game, as he was a real leader of the team. The team faced the absolutely same problem in the game against Levante, as they created many dangerous moments, and were stronger, however, they need to work on stronger defence.

Unfortunately, Bruno Soriano will miss the next match due to a leg injury.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid still searching their best football. After the first La Liga match against Celta Vigo, it seemed that the team had found harmony and would play at a high level. Madridistas won the game against Celta with 3:1 result, even after getting a red card at 56th minute, they stood together and scored 2 more goals. Playing at home, they struggled with Valladolid and drawn the match at the end, conceding a goal from S. Guardiola. Real totally dominated at the first half, possessing 68% of the time and 14 goal attempts. Unfortunately, the Meringues failed to score and transferred the task to the next half. There, too, Valladolid defended almost until the end of the match, but Benzema scored a goal in the 81st minute. But Valladolid did not give up and in 88 minutes pulled out a draw in a very important match against the favourites of La Liga.

Real still lacks the realization of sharp points and hardness in defence. Super players and investments should definitely pay off under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane, as he proved the ability to manage and win trophies. Probably it needs some time to find their game and prove to everyone their superiority.

Unfortunately, lots of leaders will miss the next game. Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Eden Hazard, Brahim Diaz, James Rodriguez and probably Isco will watch this game from the bench, as they all are injured.
