Granada vs Barcelona should be a very interesting game of Round 5, as in Primeira Division, these teams have the same amount of points. This match will be held at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes, in Granada. Of course, this is a matter of time when Barcelona scores more points and Granada falls into the second half of the table. Moreover, the teams at this stage are in completely different weight categories and only luck can help Granada overpower ex-Champions. Read our thoughts about this La Liga Granada vs Barcelona match, here below.

Last time these teams met in 2016/17 season, and Barcelona won both at home and away conceding a goal while playing at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. In general, Catalonians have 6 straight wins over the Granada playing in La Liga and conceded only in 2 matches scoring 21 goals.

Granada

Last year Granada finished second in La Liga 2 and was promoted to the highest Spanish division. During the whole season, they lost only 7 games out of 42, which is really very strong result. So now, they have one more chance to prove their abilities in Premiera. Nazaríes started the season with a very productive 4:4 draw against Villarreal. Then, they lost against Sevilla playing at home without any shots on goal. In general, they had several brilliant chances to take a draw or even win, but Sevillans stood strong in defence.

After failed games, they took a confident 3:0 win over Espanyol, playing at RCDE Stadium. That was surprising, howe they realized their chances and created the moments, while Espanyol struggled to pass the Granada’s defence. With excellent emotions and mood, after the victory over Espanyol Granada stand to the field against an even stronger team Celt Vigo. Aggressive play by the home team let the team down and already in 30 first minutes, they received 2 red cards that made the game easier for guests. As a result, Granada took 3 points and won this game 2:0 away.

Unfortunately, Alex Martinez, Neyder Lozano, Yan Brice, Fede Vico and Quini will probably miss the next match due to injuries.

Barcelona

Barca started this season struggling especially in away matches. Already in 3 last road games, Barcelona failed to win. They lost playing against Athletic Bilbao at the opening round of La Liga. Then, they even being in front, drawn the match against underdogs Osasuna even having much more chances to score than opponents. In general, their game looking weaker than in a previous year, and teams like Athletico or Atletic Madrid will have a great chance to compete against them and Real Madrid this season for the place on top.

During the 1st round of UEFA Champions League, they played against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. We expected from both teams very productive match, however, teams finished the match with 0:0 result. This was very surprising since both most often concentrating especially on attacking football and often scoring 3 goals than 0. Catalonians controlled the possession, but had less dangerous moments and shot only once on target. Borussia was more dangerous and attacked by counter-attacks. 16 years old Fati made a Champions League debut. Hummels looked like a wall stopping absolutely all Barcelona’s attacks. At 57th minute, Marc-Andre ter Stegen brilliantly saved penalty taken by Reus. So Dortmund had better chances to succeed and Barca should improve playing road games for sure.

Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele and Jordi Alaba will miss this game due to injuries.
