Chievo vs AC Milan - 09/03/2019 Preview

Chievo will face AC Milan at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, in Verona, at Italian Serie A 27th Round. Chievo against AC Milan is the match with big interest after their previous matches at Italian Serie A.  Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Chievo

Chievo Verona this season is very likely that will be relegated to Serie B. Now they stand at the last position, conceded the most and scored less than others in Serie A. In total Chievo won only once this season and already lost 15 matches in 26 rounds. At home, they won against Frosinone, lost 7 and have drawn 5 matches. The club from Verona is playing in highest Italy’s league 11 years in a row. Moreover, they failed to score in the last 4 games.

Lots of Chieva players have left the club on loan or on transfer, due to bad clubs situation this season. Sergio Pellissier will miss next match due to injury and Nicola Rigoni due to yellow card suspension.

Of course, the Yellow-Blues have much more weaknesses this season, than strengths, however, they are great at stealing the ball from the opposition and match against Genoa showed they can defend strongly, especially playing at home. They are looking bad at defending against through ball attacks, defending set pieces, counter attacks and against long shots. In addition, they are facing problems at finishing scoring chances and keeping possession of the ball.

AC Milan

AC Milan is looking very confident in last matches. They are unbeaten in the last 9 matches, moreover, they conceded only 2 goals in 9 matches and won 6 of them. As a result, they took 3rd position in Serie A and have 1 point difference with Internazionale. AC Milan is continuing their fight in Coppa Italia and will meet with Lazio in the second round. If their perfect form will continue until the end of the season, they will have chances to fight even for 2nd position. During the transfer windows, Milan did a good job, as a result, new players gave good results.

Young Polish Krzysztof Piatek joined Milan from Genoa and already scored 5 goals and in total this season have 18 goals in Serie A. He was a changing person after G. Higuain joined Chelsea on loan. Unfortunately, G. Bonaventura and C. Zapata will miss the next match due to injuries. All other main squad players are fit and ready to fight for one more victory.

Milan club is very strong this season at attacking down the wings, creating long shot opportunities and defending set pieces. However, they are showing weaknesses at aerial duels and protecting the lead. Very likely that even at away pitch, they will play possessional football, non-aggressively and take long shots.

H2H

Milan won all 5 last matches, however, all matches finished with a resultative score and with goals from each clubs. In every game, the Rossoneri scored at least 3 goals.
