During the last 5 games between these teams, Fiorentina were stronger only once in December of the 2018 year. 3 times AC Milan were stronger, once finishing the game with a draw. AC Milan lost their last home game, however, previously were unbeated since 2013 at San Siro.
AC Milan
Milan struggling this year, as they are at 13th place wit only 6 collected points so far. In 5 games they scored 3 goals and conceded 5. They really great at defence, however, facing big troubles in the attack. Even playing with the almost full main squad, they could cope only with the weakest. Unfortunately in the last game, they suffered defeat from Turino. Guests were absolutely brilliant during the first half and took dominance into their hands. K. Piatek realized the penalty and led the team, seemed to the confident win. However, the second half started differently, as Torino started to play more aggressively in the attack. They created much more dangerous moments and mostly controlled the game. Andrea Belotti scored double in 72th and 76th minutes and everything in this game turned 360 degrees. Black and red did not have time to understand what happened as there was already an ending of the game. Massive Rossoneri attacks did not give any result. The last second of the game Krzysztof Piatek headed the very dangerous ball, but Salvatore Sirigu made a stunning save and referees whistle finished the match. Milan played pretty well in this game, but again, the team lacked character.
M. Caldaraand L. Paqueta will miss next game due to injuries. P. Reina got red card sitting on the bench the last match, so he will miss the next match also.
Fiorentina
Fiorentina this summer acquired several new veterans to join their team and only in the last games began to use them for their intended purpose. The team completely failed the start of the season as they scored 2 points in the first 4 games. Of course, given what kind of rivals they had, there is nothing surprising in this. Facing Napoli, Genoa, Juventus and Atalanta in first matches of the season is very hard since all of them are really strong and dangerous. Even more, we can call great results taking points playing against Juventus and Atalanta. Finally, they won their first match over the Sampdoria at Stadio Artemio Franchi, in Florence. La Viola’s led the match scoring an important goal after F. Ribery’s assists and were much stronger in the first half. The second half started from 2 replacements as Eusebio Di Francesco wasn’t satisfied by Gabbiadini and Ramirez performances. At 57th-minute Jeison Murillo made a bad challenge what led him to the second yellow card. Even after 3 minutes Chiesa scored a second goal of the match and doubled the lead. Sampdoria just not gave up and at the end of the game scored a goal with the hope of taking at least 1 point, but this did not happen. Fiorentina saved the game and took the first 3 points this season.
Pedro and J. Rasmussen are still under question if they will be able to play over the AC Milan this Sunday.
