Hungary

FIFA Rating – 52

Hungary is playing at the middle-class level in Europe. In World Cup qualification two years ago they finished at 3rd position, however, they had very big points difference against second-place Switzerland. The quality of the game makes it possible to win against weak teams, but unfortunately, skills and experience are not enough for victories against strong teams. In UEFA Nations League they saved their place in League C, however, failed to be promoted to PlayOffs and League B. Although, Hungary won against Finland in last round, Finland was stronger in previous games, as a result, promoted to the higher league.

In the year 2018, Hungary played 10 games including friendly matches. They won only 3 matches at home ground. Moreover, they failed to score at home only against Scotland and lost with one goal difference. The called-up national Hungary team have great players from different Top 5 Europe’s highest Leagues. However, they will need to fight strongly for a second place in the table, since Croatia are clear favorites of the group.

Croatia

FIFA Rating – 4

After a good performance at the World Cup, the team rose high in the Fifa Rating. Now the main thing is not to lower the bar and show that they deserve high places in all championships. Croatia became vice-champions of World Cup 2018 where they played against France and lost in incredible clash 4:2. The most interesting thing is that Croatia could repeat the Portuguese and become champions without a single victory in regular time in the European Championship.

After they played in UEFA Nations League and failed to save their position in League A. In 4 matches they lost 2 against England 2:1 and surprisingly 6:0 against Spain. However, that was revenge after Croatia’s  3:2 win. For this qualification, they collected star players with very good experience and abilities. Luka Modric became the player of the year in 2018 and will also fight for getting into Euro 2020. Unfortunately, Corluka, Mandzukic, and Subasic retired from international football.
