On the 7th of June will play Denmark vs Ireland at Telia Parken, in Copenhagen, in UEFA Europe 2020 Qualification 3rd Round. Denmark against Ireland is the match with big interest because of great National squads and great perspectives in Qualification. Review our thoughts on this Denmark vs Ireland match here below.

Denmark

FIFA Rating – 10

Denmark played only once in Euro 2020 qualification. They met with Switzerland and played a very productive game which finished with a draw. For away match and against one of the group favorites result 3:3 is very positive. So now they have to work even more strongly and win other games. That match should be a very good example of how the team should play even losing by 3 goals. They made a very unpredictable comeback scoring 3 goals in 6 last match minutes. Denmark totally lost 1st half, however, they made everything in the second one to take the draw and show their abilities.

Earlier the Red-whites played in World Cup, were took second place in the group. However, they lost to Croatia in the 1/8 Finals by penalties. Since World Cup, they played in UEFA National League and took 1st place. That means their promotion to League A and competition with much more stronger opponents. They are unbeaten in 7 matches in a row in all competitions. Ex-Manchester City player and now Head Coach of Denmark Åge Hareide called very strong, talented and experienced players. Most of them are from best Europe’s leagues like Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga. This team obviously should give a very strong fight to Ireland.

Ireland

FIFA Rating – 29

Ireland is not the most dangerous and strongest teams in Europe. However, most of their players are from the English Premier League and Championship, which gives very much confidence and high-class experience. Previously, they played in UEFA Nations League, where they failed to win in all matches against Denmark and Wales. They were relegated to League C with more similar opponents to them. Even though they won twice already in Euro 2020 Qualification and stands at 1st place, they can lose it after facing Denmark and Switzerland, as these opponents are much stronger. Ireland won against Gibraltar and Georgia previously with the same 1:0 result.

Also, ex-Manchester City player Mick McCarthy called very strong and interesting players to the national squad. He was named as a new manager a few months ago and already showed strong results. Most of them are from the Premier League and Championship, so they really have big experienced and abilities to show. As we can see, their game confidently works in defense and could be stronger in the attack. They lost only once in their last 7 games in all competitions. Moreover, Republic of Ireland scored 3 goals and conceded only 2 in 7 last matches. Very likely, that they will choose the same tactic as previous time playing against Denmark. So we can expect 5 defenders in the first eleven.

Denmark vs Ireland H2H

These rivals know each other well. For the last 2 years, they met 4 times. Most interesting, that only once Denmark won with smashing 5:1 result playing away in Dublin. All other 3 matches finished with the same 0:0 result. Ireland knows Denmark’s attacking potential, so they play defensive football from the beginning of the match. In the last two games, Denmark controlled the ball, made lots of shots and dangerous attacks, however, Irish defenders were stronger.
