RB Leipzig will face Bayern Munich at Volksparkstadion, in Hamburg at German DFB Pokal Semi-Finals. RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich is the match with big interest after their previous matches in German Bundesliga. Bayern Munich failed to succeed already two seasons in a row in DFB Pokal. While young and perspective RB Leipzig want to prove all the fans that they should be among top German clubs for a long time. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

RB Leipzig

RasenBall sport Leipzig with every year play even better and better. This season they finished at 3rd place and at the 1st place by the defensive game in Bundesliga. In 34 games they lost only 6 matches and conceded 29 goals. In DFB Pokal they are unbeaten already in 8 games in a row. This is only 3rd Bundesliga season for this young club, although, they already showing great performance and competing with best league teams. At home, Bulls lost only to Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga, however, played 6 draws losing lots of point because of it. In 17 home games, they conceded only 9 goals.

They will play in Champions League next season, however, failed to go further in UEFA Europa League this season. Unfortunately, they took 3rd place in the Group stage losing to Celtic and Salzburg. Ex-Schalke 04 and 1899 Hoffenheim head coach Ralf Rangnick making very great job building one of the strongest teams in Bundesliga and in perspective in Europe.

Most interesting, that RB Leipzig investing big money to young players. The average age of arrivals to Leipzig is 21 years. In season 2018/19 club brought Amadou Haidara, Nordi Mukiele, Matheus Cunha and Marcelo Saracchi in total spending 62m €. All these players are less than 20 years old. This is very rare than club involving much more young player to their squad than experienced. All these players they could buy after selling Naby Keita for 60m € to Liverpool. There is no doubt this year the club will earn a lot of money on its players again. For example, Timo Werner already last year was linked to Bayern Munich, so very likely he will join the club this summer.

Fortunately, all main squad players are fit and ready to fight the strongest German club and prove they are worthy to play in the Final and be almost on top of the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich

After a hard and unsuccessful start of the season, Bayern Munich made everything to overcome Borussia Dortmund and become champions of Bundesliga. The showed and proved once again that compete with them is very hard and almost impossible. As always, they were favorites in all German tournaments. The most unsuccessful moment was, then Liverpool overtook them in Allianz Arena by 3:1 result. That’s how their Champions League path this year was finished. At home, Bayern lost in Bundesliga only once against Borussia Monchengladbach. Of course, the club has a great history and abilities, so their wins in Germany is not surprising.

The Bavarians have 18 DBF Pokal Trophies and lost 4 times in the final, as it was last year against Eintracht Frankfurt.

It is a pity that several greatest players will leave the club at the end of the season. Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery scored in the final game of Bundesliga and helped to take 7th in a row title. Moreover, Rafinha leaving the club too, and that is a great opportunity to rebuild the squad reaching new heights. As we mentioned before, one of the transfer window targets is Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, and during this match, he has all possibilities to prove his price of 70m €. Already last year, Bayern sold Douglas Costa, Arturo Vidal, Sandro Wagner, Juan Bernat, and Sebastian Rudy, as they didn’t found any way to be an important part in strongly built first eleven.

All main squad players are fit and prepared to face one of the most interesting and young clubs in Germany.
