Marseille had a very unstable season previously. They took 5th place in Ligue 1, however, their game was far away from the best. They failed to succeed in UEFA Europa League last year, taking the last place in the group stage with only 1 draw and 5 losses. Of course, it was hard to compete with teams like Lazio and Eintracht Frankfurt, however, fans and analytics expected much more from them.

The match against Nantes was very the match against Nantes was not noticeable since we did not see very dangerous moments. Given that Marseille did not score a penalty, they failed to create good dangerous moments in the attack, but for that, they stood up very confident in defence. After a penalty not scored, the team was morally weaker and this all stopped working out.
