Arsenal will face Napoli at Emirates Stadium, in London, in the Europa League Quarter-Finals first leg. Arsenal against Napoli is always the match with big interest, especially during this season. Both strong and talented squads will play for Semi-Final of second biggest European Tournament. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Arsenal

Arsenal this year is looking very confident at Emirates stadium. They lost only to Tottenham and Manchester United this season. At Emirates Stadium, they won 7 matches in a row in a different competition, by saving clean sheet in 5 games. Very likely that Arsenal will press the guests from Naples strongly since this could be a great start of the quarter-final. Arsenal is still fighting in Premier League for taking one of 2 left places for Champions League next year. Arsenal now has only 1 point difference with their constant rivals Tottenham. Winning against Napoli and going further in the tournament would be great motivation for everybody fighting for the long-awaited trophy.

Arsenal’s A. Ramsey will join Juventus next season on a free transfer. After frequently injuries, the Gunners decided to let the player go since he began to play rarely and not stable. U. Emery made a big transfer job in London, however, things don’t change, and Reds could take 4th place in the PL once again.

Unfortunately, Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka, and Danny Welbeck will miss this important match due to injuries. But Lucas Torreira could join the squad since he is suspended due to red card only in Premier League. In total, Arsenal is strong enough at shooting from direct free kicks, finishing scoring chances, attacking down the wings and creating long shot opportunities. However, the Gunners are facing troubles at stopping opponents from creating chances and aerial duels.

Napoli

This season Napoli failed to succeed in Italy’s Serie A once again since Juventus is playing fantastic football. Every year the main squad goal is to become winners of the highest Italian league, but Juventus is playing better and better. The team from Naples is also playing much better at home ground than in road games. This season at home they lost only once against Juventus month ago. Now in Serie A, they are in second place with 7 points difference against Internazionale, so very likely that they will finish the season in the same position.

Napoli actually looks confident this year, but they are facing lack of the completion of good attacks and critical moments. A. Milik, D. Mertens, and L. Insigne made a very dangerous trio but looks like it’s not enough to be the best with that kind of players. Gli Azzurri should find the way to overtake Zebras next season.

Unfortunately, Amadou Diawara and Raul Albiol will miss next match due to injuries. All other main squad players are fit and ready to face Arsenal at Emirates. Napoli is playing strong football at shooting from direct free kicks, counter-attacks, attacking down the wings and creating scoring chances. However, they are facing weaknesses at aerial duels, avoiding the offside and stopping opponents from creating chances.

H2H

Last time they met in the year 2013 in the group stage of Champions League. Arsenal took second place at that time. Both matches at Naples and London finished with hosts wins with same 2:0 results.
