Juventus will face Ajax at Allianz Stadium, in Turin, in the Champions League Quarter-Finals second leg. Juventus against Ajax is always the match with big interest, especially during this season. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Juventus

In the last match, Juventus needed to take at least one point to guarantee the trophy of Serie A earlier than season’s end, however, they failed to make it and lost to SPAL in 2:1 game. The difference in Serie A is too big to worry about. Of course, they brought to the field not the strongest squad and gave the main players a rest. This season, the team has everything to win the long-awaited cup. At the moment a very strong, confident, experienced and talented team has been assembled that can beat any club.

After a few last games, Juventus faced an injury crisis. Giorgio Chiellini, Emre Can, Martin Caceres, Blaise Matuidi and hopefully not, but Cristiano Ronaldo probably miss next, most important match of the season. Massimiliano Allegri should find a way to found the best replacement for these starlet players and at home show their best football.

Ajax

As always in the Hollands Eredivisie Ajax is showing best football and strengthen their place in the league with another win. Of course, PSV is following them in every step, however, Ajax attack looks unstoppable. They already scored 106 goals in 30 matches, even 4 players scored more than 10 goals in the squad. Erik ten Hag made a big work by putting together a team like this. As we saw they are able to play on the same level even with the strongest squad from strongest Europe’s divisions. Ajax every year produces very talented players and sell them to super clubs, then grows new ones. As we can see from Huntelaar, some people come back to their home club after an outstanding career in order to help them achieve top results.

Fortunately, the squad of Ajax should not be changed after the first game, since all the main players are healthy and ready to repeat or play even better against Juventus. Erik ten Hag should set up a team to win, despite what stadium they are at and play the best match of the season!

Champions League Play-Offs Quarter-final 1st leg

In the first match, we saw almost total Ajax domination. They had 60% of ball possession, made in total 19 shots and made almost twice more passes than Juventus. Ajax was very dangerous and sometimes only luck helped the guests to avoid a goal. Cristiano Ronaldo and David Neres scored goals and match finished with 1:1 final result. That position is, of course, better for Juventus, since they scored away goal. Ronaldo hit only once on goal and that shot was successful. The team failed to create more moments for him, although he repeatedly proved that they need to play on him. Bentancur played one of his best matches this season and saved Juventus several times. We can say with confidence that this match was very interesting and strained.
